 No, New Jersey does not require you to complete any courses.


 No, New Jersey does not require you to take an exam.


 Yes, New Jersey requires you to have a General Liability insurance policy with limits of at least $500,000 per occurrence. You are also now required to carry Workers' Compensation if you have any employees or subcontractors.


 Yes, New Jersey requires you to have a Home Improvement or Elevation;

 Contractor  bond with limits of $10k or $50k, depending on your sales volume.. We can issue these bonds in-house for you.


 In most cases, having criminal history does not disqualify you. If you've been convicted of a crime or offense and are concerned about your past don't sweat it. Just give us a call and we'll consult with you.


 Yes, the New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor's Registration covers the entire state of New Jersey, with the exception of Newark. Newark has a separate license.


 On average, most applications will take 2-4 weeks time. Timeframes may vary depending on the time of year and your particular circumstance.


 The cost of our expediting services are listed above in the Choose Your Service section. Our service fees do not include any 3rd party fees. Below is a list of 3rd party fees. Some of the 3rd party fees listed below may not apply to you.

  • Sate Filing Fees if you are creating a new company, or registering as a foreign company from another state: $128.50 + Domestic State Fees if Applicable
  • New Jersey Initial Registration Fee: $110.00
  • New Jersey Annual Registration Renewal Fee: $90.00
  • New Jersey Registration Reinstatement Fee: $140.00
  • Our Service Fees: $350 - $1,750 depending on your specific situation
  • General Liability Insurance: Premiums vary depending on the type of work you perform, Gross Sales, Payroll, Cost of Subs, and Other Factors
  • Bonds are $100 to $500 a year, subject to qualification and bond limit.
  • Workers' Comp Insurance; Premiums may vary depending on the type of work you perform and Payroll.


 Any contractor who performs work without a Registration is subject to a civil penalty of up to $10,000 for the first offense and up to $20,000 for each offense after that. Also, anyone who knowingly violates the Act is considered guilty of a crime in the fourth degree and faces additional fines as well as possible jail time.
